Release 4.4 brings exciting new features along with platform level architecture enhancements. This release lays a foundation for scalability to accommodate new product offerings and extensions. Here is a glimpse of major enhancements in this Release.
Revamp of Admin Portal
Administration portal is completely revamped for ease of use and streamlined workflows. Admin portal is also separated from the main ACCELQ application, so that an Admin can directly login without having to route through the main application login.
Azure Plugin for ACCELQ
ACCLEQ now delivers end to end bi-directional traceability with Azure using a Plugin available on Microsoft Azure Marketplace. This plugin provides visibility in Azure, of ACCELQ test case traceability and test executions. A Project Manager for an application Release can track readiness from testing/automation view point, right from Azure (without logging into ACCELQ).
API & Unified Project Types
An admin can now create API Project as a standalone project type, as against the standard Unified Project. This allows users to work in API-only subscription mode without coming across UI automation workflows.
A Tenant Admin when creating a Project, will select the project type.
Note: A user that is assigned API type license can only be added to an API project type.
Mapping elements on a View
View Canvas now provides a capability to map the repository elements on the View. This allows you to visualize which elements from the Repo are represented in the currently opened View. You can also copy the element names into clipboard for further review.
Jira/TFS access as a local user
Communication with Jira/TFS integration points is now enhanced, so that the Jira/TFS server does not need to open up to the ACCELQ server. Communication with these systems now emulate a local user access in client's network.
Local-Connect mode for API Test Wizard
When using API Test wizard to create API calls for verification, you now have an option to emulate local requests inside your network. This bypasses the limitation posed by browser restrictions such as CORS issues etc.
Revamped Help Center
Help Center is revamped to allow much better real estate and usability for help articles. This foundation will be further enhanced to provide guided tours and articles in the upcoming releases.
Random fake data in Action logic
Action logic now supports generic random data creation for functional needs such as first name, last name, email address, phone number etc. Simply use the command, "Get Random Info" to generate different types of random information.
Element Debugger in nested iframes
Element Debugger is now enhanced to support nested, dynamic iframes. In an element troubleshooting session (for issues during test execution), you can now interactively investigate element attributes even under a nested iframe. Note that the capability to run the tests against nested iframes was already a part of ACCELQ offering. This enhancement is specific to debugging workflow.
Support for Snowflake database testing
With Release 4.4, ACCELQ now supports Snowflake database testing. This includes querying the data and applying comprehensive verifications in your Action logic.
Improvements to user creation flow
User creation flow is further streamlined to accomplish end to end setup in one go. During user creation, a user can be assigned one or more Products as part of your organizations's subscription and assign initial set of Projects along with Roles in respective projects.
Related to this enhancement, now a Tenant Admin has a choice to be assigned only a subset of projects that are of interest. Before this update, a Tenant Admin was assigned to all projects in the tenant by default.
Bug fixes and stability
Multiple enhancements geared towards overall stability and security of the application. Bug fixes and performance enhancements included in the release.
