Use this flow when the Salesforce user already has a passkey stored in a password-manager vault, such as 1Password or Bitwarden, but the current ACCELQ Agent does not yet have its own passkey.
Keep the ACCELQ Passkey Helper toggle turned off while the password-manager extension handles the existing passkey.

This flow uses 1Password as an example and assumes that the Salesforce passkey is stored in your 1Password vault. The same approach applies to other password managers.
Note: Do not close the first tab in the controlled browser opened by ACCELQ Passkey Helper.
Step 1: Start ACCELQ Passkey Helper
Open a command prompt or terminal in the extracted ACCELQ Passkey Helper directory and run the command for your operating system.

ACCELQ Passkey Helper opens a controlled Chrome browser.

Step 2: Install the password-manager extension and log in to Salesforce
Keep the ACCELQ Passkey Helper toggle turned off throughout this step.
In the controlled Chrome browser, open a second tab. (DO NOT CLOSE THE FIRST TAB)
Open the Chrome Web Store and install the extension for the password manager where your Salesforce passkey is stored, such as 1Password or Bitwarden.

Sign in to the password-manager extension and confirm that the existing Salesforce passkey is available.
Close the second tab and return to the first tab.
Step 3: Log in to Salesforce using the passkey stored in the password manager
Enter the Salesforce username and click Log In. Use the password-manager extension to supply the saved passkey and complete the Salesforce login.

Confirm that you have successfully signed in to Salesforce.
Step 4: Initiate a request to add a new passkey for the Salesforce user
Navigate to Profile icon → Settings.

Search for “Passkeys” in the Quick Find box. Click the “Add Passkey” button.

Salesforce may ask you to verify your identity again using the existing passkey.
Keep the ACCELQ Passkey Helper toggle turned off and use the password-manager extension to complete the verification.

After verification is complete, Salesforce redirects you to the Create a Passkey page.
Step 5: Disable the password-manager extension in the controlled browser
At this point, open chrome://extensions/ in a new tab in the controlled browser. Do not open it in the first tab. Disable the password-manager extension.

Return to the first tab and refresh the page.
Step 6: Enable ACCELQ Passkey Helper and select Capture mode
Turn on the toggle in the top-right corner of ACCELQ Passkey Helper and select Capture mode.

Step 7: Create the passkey and select a save option
With Capture mode selected, ACCELQ Passkey Helper handles the new passkey-creation request from Salesforce.
Click the “Create Passkey” button in Salesforce.

Confirm that Salesforce displays the newly registered passkey with a timestamp.

Based on how you intend to use the captured passkey, select one of the following options:
- To make the captured passkey available for ACCELQ automation on the current machine, click Add to Agent. The passkey is stored in the ACCELQ Agent and is available for automation runs on that machine.
- To use the captured passkey on another machine where the ACCELQ Agent is installed, click Save for Export / Import.
Follow the steps mentioned in the below section to import the saved passkeys on another machine:

Step 8: Close the controlled browser
Click “Close browser” to close the controlled browser safely.
Enable passkey authentication during ACCELQ automation
After saving the application’s passkey in the ACCELQ Agent, to use a passkey stored in the ACCELQ Agent during an automated run:
Configure the Login Action
- Use Invoke Browser to open the application URL.
- Immediately after it, add Enable Virtual Authentication on Web Browser.
- Include the Login Action in the Scenario setup for each applicable test case.
Command behavior
The Enable Virtual Authentication on Web Browser command:
- Enables virtual authentication for all browsers that are already open and any browser opened later in the same test case.
- Automatically restores passkeys and security-key sign-ins stored in the ACCELQ Agent, allowing registered sign-ins to be reused across runs.
