accelQ uses Selenium API to interact with the web browser during test execution. If you are testing a web based application and if the machine is used as execution host, you will need to complete this setup. An execution host is a machine where the browser is invoked during test execution.
Note: accelQ allows you to login in from your machine and run the tests remotely on remote lab machines. You do not need Selenium setup to invoke the tests on remote machines.
Download and Setup
- Make sure you have java JRE available on your machine. If not, install version 1.8 of JRE from Oracle site.
- Note: Currently Selenium is supported on 1.8.* versions of JRE. Please make sure not to load later versions.
- Download the setup files from the link here and unzip to preferred folder on your machine.
- Navigate to accelQRuntime folder, open a command prompt and type "start_selenium.bat" command (or simply double click the batch file).
Note: Run this batch file every time you login. Alternatively, you can set this up as a startup program on your Windows desktop.
Note: In case you are performing this setup for a central lab machine, you can run start_node.bat or start_hub.bat depending on the requirement. Please consult with your administrator.
